Family ~ Hawkins

Hanging out with Callan and his parents last month was so much fun!  His parents received a photo session gift certificate at their baby shower, and it was a perfect day to get together.  We had gorgeous morning sunshine at Lake Kegonsa State Park.  It was my first time visiting this beautiful gem by the lake. Callan's big blue eyes and sweet smile really captured my heart.

It will be fun to continue to see this little guy grow!  I'm lucky to work with his mama and get all the updates.   With the fall weather, I'm looking forward to a few sessions in the coming weeks, including three babies, a couple more seniors, and a family shoot.  I appreciate everyone's support and interest in my work.  It is truly special to have the opportunity to be creative and work with such great people.

Senior Style ~ Bryce Session 2

Session 2 with Bryce was a great time!  Once again we had the threat of rain, but it stopped in time for this special shoot.   Bryce wanted a session with his late grandfather's 1930 Chevy, and we parked this beauty outside of an old manufacturing building in Janesville.

We soon went to some railroad tracks and decided that since the train was there, we'd get a few shots with it.  The color and artwork was a perfect match, since Bryce is a talented artist himself.

I hope you have a fantastic senior year, Bryce, and best of luck to you in your shining future!  Thanks for hanging out with me out and around Janesville this summer.  I had a great time working with you!

Senior Style ~ Ally

We had beautiful sunshine the first morning of our senior sessions with Ally.  The sun was in her hair,  and the temps were just right for spending time at Palmer Park and downtown Janesville.  I typically do my sessions in the evenings, and this was my first in the morning this summer, so I had some new locations in mind since the lighting is different.  We had a great time!

Downtown offers some great lines and textures, and I knew her funky denim and Converse shoes would work perfectly for this location! Ally has great style, and it was fun to capture her laughter throughout the session.

Our second morning featured very different weather!  We met at Riverside Park, and the wind was really blowing -- not to mention the temperatures felt like a chilly fall morning.  I am amazed that we captured what we did, because many times her hair was blowing everywhere!  The willows and Devil's Staircase at the park offered such serene views, which paired well with her simple style that day.

Next we went to a terrific textured warehouse, and an ivy covered wall, and the neatest HOT PINK doors and windows to really pop with her black and white stripes.  Thanks, Ally, for trying these new locations with me that day!  It was super fun!  I hope you have a wonderful senior year.  I just know you have a bright future ahead of you!

Senior Style ~ Maggie Session 2

A few weeks ago I had session #2 for this sweet senior! We had some fun trying the new props I brought along, such as a suitcase, a stool, and an antique wooden folding chair I painted bright blue.  Maggie was so relaxed -- even in 90+ temps.  I just love her smile.  This girl is going places, just watch!

Tonight was the first time I had done any sessions at these locations, and I want to thank Maggie for allowing us to try some new things.  I keep learning and growing so much as a photographer, and a lot of it is due to taking risks with the right client.  Maggie, you are amazing!

It has been a busy few weeks with seniors and babies, so I'll have much more for you to see very soon.  Please stop back!
