Family ~ Higgins

I was fortunate to work with this awesome family earlier this fall.  Our original location was off the table, since the cool, textured, mustard yellow wall we wanted in town was now painted RED!  What a loss.  So Sara suggested this fantastic alternative, in Sharon, Wisconsin.  The yellow wooden warehouse, the neat textured brick in the alley, and the ivy creeping on the side of a fence all made for a really great backdrop.  I'm glad to know about it now!

I think they look great in black and white, too!

Thanks for inviting me to capture these photos for you, Sara!  I had a great time, and your kids are just super sweet.  It was a fun afternoon, even if we had to wait out a few sprinkles.   Have a happy new year!

Senior Style ~ Ally

We had beautiful sunshine the first morning of our senior sessions with Ally.  The sun was in her hair,  and the temps were just right for spending time at Palmer Park and downtown Janesville.  I typically do my sessions in the evenings, and this was my first in the morning this summer, so I had some new locations in mind since the lighting is different.  We had a great time!

Downtown offers some great lines and textures, and I knew her funky denim and Converse shoes would work perfectly for this location! Ally has great style, and it was fun to capture her laughter throughout the session.

Our second morning featured very different weather!  We met at Riverside Park, and the wind was really blowing -- not to mention the temperatures felt like a chilly fall morning.  I am amazed that we captured what we did, because many times her hair was blowing everywhere!  The willows and Devil's Staircase at the park offered such serene views, which paired well with her simple style that day.

Next we went to a terrific textured warehouse, and an ivy covered wall, and the neatest HOT PINK doors and windows to really pop with her black and white stripes.  Thanks, Ally, for trying these new locations with me that day!  It was super fun!  I hope you have a wonderful senior year.  I just know you have a bright future ahead of you!
